CHILI
2 cans chili beans
1 can chili diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 can good beef broth
1 pound browned hamburger
( i use less because we are cutting down on red meat)
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon dry ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon or less celery seed
1-2 Tablespoons chili powder (more if you like)
This is an easy, fast, basic chili that tastes really good and isn't real hot.
but you could add what you like to suit your taste.
CORNBREAD
1 -1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
(mix together set aside)
2 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup milk
1/4 cup canola oil
mix together and add to dry ingredients
(don't over mix)
bake in a 9x9x2-inch pan at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes
( I use a cast-iron fry pan and bake the same way)
My tummy cannot take real hot and spicy food so this works well for me and still has a little kick to it. ENJOY!!!

This looks so good right now! I LOVE cornbread!!! Unfortunately I'm the only one in my family that does so I have to eat the whole thing myself. =) I'm going to use your chili recipe here. It sounds better than the one Tom uses to make chili. He likes his, but I think I'd like yours better. I'll let you know the verdict!

This does look like a meal to warm the body on a cold, cold day!
You should try ground turkey if you're trying to have less red meat--I use it in a lot of things that call for beef and it's great! AND, automatically free of hormones and antibiotics!
