COTTAGE KITCHEN

In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste cans and compost buckets---some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage.
Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing.
" You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." Psalm 23:5

AROUND THE COTTAGE....

Two of the tables have arrived..this one is still coming with the sofa table in about 2-3 more weeks. The living room is really stating to come together and hubby and I are both happy.

The sofa table is in the background...the side table on the right is the one that has arrived

This is the coffee table that has arrived also. It is big enough to play games on when all the kids are here. I am wondering how I should decorate it. I have put together several things but my hubby isn't really happy with any of them yet maybe we will purchase something together. I guess I will search some blogs on tablescaping. I put magazines and books on the bottom and he thinks they need baskets to be put in ...guess we will be looking for baskets this weekend.
This past weekend I was babysitting Hunter so on Friday I had both Ellie and Hunter and as you can see in the background not much else gets done. Hunter and I were making bread but he wasn't very interested in that or the rolling of the dough, when I decided to make some into cinnamon rolls. He is at the stage where he likes to mix and taste, mix and taste. The cinnamon sugar was a hit. This biggest joy for me was when his mom and dad came to pick him up he didn't want to go. I guess he really had a good time at gramys huh??

Eleanor (Ellie) is growing and changing so much. This was her daddys chair and both kids really enjoyed it. She likes Mr. Bear he makes her laugh. Hunter gets very concerned when she isn't happy. Saturday morning Ellie was at home and grandpa at work and all day he would walk around with hands in the air...Ewoee(ellie) Gampa (grandpa) it was priceless.

Last week we took her to Alexandria ,a town about an hour away, where they have a Scandinavian store. We buy all our granndkids a cup, bib and hat. We also hit the bakery for a few treats before going home. The weather was ranining and cold so we didn't get to do much else but we had a good time. She wasn't fond of Mr. Troll he came from Norway as a gift to my daughter from a relative one year.

I was trying to catch her smiling but she moves so fast.

Sometimes Grandma and Eleanor play beauty parlor and this time I gave her ponytails. Doesn't she look cute?

Spring is finally coming to Wobegon and we are happy about the snow melt. Eleanor and I went for a walk. This is across the road from where we live and I don't see any snow do you?

We sat on the patio when we got back but it was a little chilly so we didn't last long

There has been some baking and cooking going on at the cottage but most of the baking posts go to my other blog shared with my SIL and Niece...lefsagirlsinthekitchen
I will be posting my CARAMEL CORN RECIPE today

This was a cream puff recipe I was playing around with, with white chocolate filling and strawberries

I have managed to read a few books in the last couple of weeks and am on one by Nicholas Sparks...The Lucky One. The days are longer here in Wobegon and Spring is in the air...I can't wait to start planting something.

First of all I have to say that I LOVE Ellie's pigtails - she is so cute! Both Hunter & Ellie are growing so much.
I love your tables. That is how I want to finish mama's old china cabinet.
Hope you find some baskets and accessories you both like this weekend.
