COTTAGE KITCHEN

In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste cans and compost buckets---some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage.
Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing.
" You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." Psalm 23:5

AROUND THE COTTAGE

The temperature is 15 degrees and falling The snow started around 11:00 this morning and dusted everything it has picked up and we should get around 4 inches along with 40 hour a mile winds. I wonder why they don't consider that a BLIZZARD I am a greenhorn here in Minnesota but when it blows like that you can't see on the freeway so to me it is a blizzard. I went to take some pictures but it is too dark I will try in the morning if I can manage the cold. I decided to throw together a quick APPLE CRISP for dinner.

It helped me not to think how cold it will be getting in the next few weeks and I really love the smell of apples and cinnamon. I tried baking it in a cast iron pan and it turned out well.
Then I remembered I had some hot caramel ice cream topping, you know, the thick kind so I decided to turn my apple crisp into CARAMEL apple crisp. It was so yummy..now if I could only get myself to the gym to work off all those holiday calories...maybe in January I should start. Enjoy your holiday baking..I am.

Christmas has landed in your house for sure!
Oh man, would I love to have apple crisp for dinner! Did you really have it for dinner? I'll remember that for when Tom is gone on a hunting trip and I'm only cooking for myself and the kids! =)

Love your pics Alice. Those napkins look familiar :). I love my manger scene from dad too. I always set the wisemen off a little ways, heading to the manger from the east.
