COTTAGE KITCHEN

In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste cans and compost buckets---some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage.
Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing.
" You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." Psalm 23:5

IN THE KITCHEN

Today was going to be a baking day. The weather was cooler so I could use the oven. While I was watering the garden and plants outside this morning, I tripped and fell. OUCH!! My arm is stiff and sore. So all I was able to bake was a new cake I tried to invent:Raspberry-Lemon Cake
lemon cake mix, raspberry jello, a lemon glaze and whip cream Easy and pretty good.
Feeling a little sorry for myself I decided to revert to some comfort food for dinner. Turkey gravy over mashed potatoes.
This meal has very fond memories of my childhood days in elementary school(not the beets) It use to be my favorite . The other school lunch I loved was chili. They served cinnamon rolls with it and to this day I make cinnamon rolls to go with my homemade chili.
It isn't the prettiest of foods but very, very tasty. I had made a Strawberry-Rhubarb sauce to go with it earlier in the day but forgot and served strawberry-banana fruit salad instead. I will have the sauce for breakfast maybe...

My favorite school meal was the mashed potaoes with hamburger in them and cheese melted on top! I also loved the pear halves with mayo and chedder cheese! Hope your arm gets better!

So this is now the second time I've heard of cinnamon rolls going with chili!!! The first time was when I'd brought my cinnamon rolls to a church potluck and someone else brought chili and a friend of ours was all excited to have cinnamon rolls with chili because he said they go together. I'd never heard that before. Kind of like cheese on apple pie???
