COTTAGE KITCHEN

In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste cans and compost buckets---some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage.
Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing.
" You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." Psalm 23:5

COTTAGE IN NOVEMEMBER

With Thanksgiving almost upon us I began thinking how truely thankful I really am. I thought I might use my blog to share some things I am thankful for this month. The first one I am sharing is how thankful I am that God allowed My son to return home safely from Iraq. Along with my nephews. They are not in any of these pictures because they were not stationed together but all return home safely.
This is Camp Lejune North Carolina

Would you believe he was born two months early and weighed 3 pounds?

We had a celebration on the base for the homecoming.

We were waiting for his ship to come in

if you look closely there are 2 ships are out there

our little prayer vigil to remind us to pray for all of them

I am very proud of my son Michael who was willing to give his life for his country.
We are so thankful for all the men and women who protect us daily so we can enjoy our freedoms
I especially think about those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and try to remember to pray for their families. It was a difficult time but we learned alot and grew alot. I have so much respect and admiration for these men and women who chose to fight for us. I am truely thankful.

I am thankful for your son's return also, and all those who return to their families. My heart hurts for those who will never see their loved ones again; who have sacrified for our country. It must be doubly hard on them to hear the negative rhetoric against the war efforts. We are proud of our son-in-law who is a Marine served in Iraq for 3 deployments and strongly believes in what he's done. Let us celebrate and be thankful with you.

I am thankful for all of those who serve also and am very grateful to your son and your nephews for their sacrifices and service for our freedoms. Such heartbreaking news from yesterday - my prayers go out to those families who lost loved ones.

He was on all of our hearts and in our prayers that year as he was the first of the 'boys' to be sent into the war. Our family was so blessed to have all of our boys come home safely. Amen. God knew Little Ellie needed to come into the world! Carson, Olivia and Tessa too!

By the way, if you count your son Michael, your husband Paul, our son David, our nephew Brad and your Grandfather Dow, that makes 5 members of our family, not including extended family , who are and were ( is there such a thing as "were" in the Marines)Marines!
